Spotkanie Marszałka Sejmu z Przewodniczącym Izby Gmin Kanady

W czwartek (17 października) marszałek Sejmu Szymon Hołownia spotkał się z przewodniczącym Izby Gmin Kanady Gregiem Fergusem. W składzie kanadyjskiej delegacji znaleźli się również parlamentarzyści: Helena Jaczek, Stéphane Bergeron, Lindsay Mathyssen, Shuvaloy Majumdar.

Dyskusja polityków dotyczyła przede wszystkim rozwoju polsko - kanadyjskiej współpracy, również na poziomie parlamentarnym. Omawiano także międzynarodowe aspekty bezpieczeństwa, ze szczególnym naciskiem na rozwój sytuacji w ogarniętej rosyjską agresją Ukrainie. Podkreślano konieczność wspólnego działania i wykorzystywania wszystkich możliwych środków na rzecz budowania pokoju i stabilizacji.

Delegacja kanadyjska spotkała się również z przewodniczącym Komisji Spraw Zagranicznych pos. Pawłem Kowalem, członkami Delegacji Sejmu i Senatu RP do Zgromadzenia Parlamentarnego NATO oraz członkami Polsko - Kanadyjskiej Grupy Parlamentarnej.

Meeting of the Speaker of the Sejm and the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada

On Thursday (17 October), the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia met with the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, Greg Fergus. The Canadian delegation also included the following deputies: Helena Jaczek, Stéphane Bergeron, Lindsay Mathyssen, and Shuvaloy Majumdar.

The politicians' discussion focused on the development of Polish-Canadian cooperation, including at the level of parliaments. They also discussed international security, with special emphasis on the developments in Ukraine in the midst of the Russian aggression. The politicians stressed the need to foster cooperation and use all possible means to build peace and stability.

The Canadian delegation also met with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, deputy Paweł Kowal, members of the Delegation of Polish Sejm and Senate to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and members of the Polish-Canadian Parliamentary Group.
